Dear Creatives,
We are in the last days of the year, and it feels right to slow down, take a pause, and look back at everything weāve achieved together.
Letās take stock of what this year has looked like.
Podbreaks Africa and Hangout with APVA: Our bi-monthly events kept bringing audio creatives together for learning, connection, and shared growth.
The Ask and Answer Podcast: We introduced the A&A Podcast, where all your questions as an audio creative are answered by experts and industry leaders.
RESPOND: Our monthly publication continued to spotlight stories, perspectives, and voices shaping the audio landscape.
The Creatorsā Rolodex: We launched Africaās largest directory for creatives, making visibility and discovery much easier for talent across the continent.
Board of Advisors: We welcomed a new advisory board to strengthen our structure and guide our long-term direction.
African Podcast and Voice Academy: We began the soft launch of a learning hub for audio creatives.
Community-Driven Articles: A good number of our written pieces were inspired by the conversations and shared experiences within the APVA community.
Saulti Pulse: We introduced this tool to help us understand the needs, challenges, and interests of African creatives more clearly.
This newsletter is dedicated to you. Letās take a moment to walk through these memories together.
With Love,
- Abimbola

EVENTS AND PUBLICATIONS
Podbreaks Africa
PodBreaks Africa is APVAās bi-monthly community event designed to get into the minds of the guests and the audience and share experiences ā the good, the bad, the ugly and everything in between. Each session brings together guest speakers who openly share their experiences, offer practical tips, and give honest guidance to help African podcasters.
Held every last Friday of the month, PodBreaks has become a space where learning feels real and relatable.
In 2025, we hosted seven (7) editions, each one featuring industry leaders who broke down different aspects of podcasting, from storytelling and production to strategy and creative block and how to overcome it. Every session was centred on helping podcasters create better work and feel more supported in their creative journey.
You can catch all the sessions on our YouTube channel.
Hangout with APVA
Hangout with APVA is designed to address the real challenges African audio creatives face, from industry-specific hurdles to broader contemporary issues, while creating a safe, supportive space for learning and growth.
In 2025, we hosted six sessions, each offering members the opportunity to share their experiences, ask genuine questions, and connect with others walking the same path. The conversations were open, practical, and deeply rooted in the everyday realities of creators across the continent.

PODCAST
Ask and Answer Podcast
The Ask and Answer (AandA) series is built around one simple idea: creators have questions, and we create space to respond clearly and honestly. The goal is to explore the intricacies of these expressive media by addressing a wide range of questions from our audience. Each episode focuses on a specific theme, allowing us to take one subject at a time and break it down in a way thatās easy to follow and genuinely useful.
This year, we released ten (10) episodes covering questions from getting started as a voiceover artist to SEO for podcasters and how to build your presence as an audio creative. The conversations opened up practical skills, career growth, industry trends, and the everyday realities that shape the work of African creators.

Each day featured two quick multiple-choice questions and one open prompt, covering everything from industry trends to well-being. The weekly themes stretched across skills, production, business, community, and the everyday realities of podcasters, voice artists, producers, poets, and editors.
